                                                         Artist’s Statement

"I love color and I love the sun. Toucan Sun kitchen decor is about bringing both into your kitchen. In Toucan Sun kitchen art prints I bring together two loves; watercolor and home decor. I painted each image especially to enhance living spaces. The effect of the simple but vibrant expression of color and form in the images creates an exciting ambience and a strong focal point of interest in a room. The images fit well into any kitchen decor whether it be French Country, Canadiana, Italian, Spanish or Mediterranean or another theme. If I picture a dining room of classic Eastern simplicity with stark black and white decor, the accent, for instance, of the red pomegranate would create a vitality within the room and draw the room together. In rustic country kitchens, the warm orange of a peach adds to the feeling already intended by the country decor. Each image makes a statement and adds a strong presence to a room. With the fruit, flowers and vegetables, I have used scale to create a dynamic visual effect. The large size of the image on a small background extends and commands any space where it may be displayed".

About Tarun Denny's paintings: "Our guests regularly comment on our paintings by Tarun Denny. "What beautiful paintings! Where did you get those? Who is the artist? Where can I get some of her work?" I love having this artist's work in my home. We want our home to be a place of love, peace and rest, a place of family, where friends can come to relax, to be refreshed and restored, drawn into the Great Adventure...Tarun's paintings add much to such an atmosphere. They train our eye and our soul to savor the beauty that surrounds us. Tarun's paintings of nature convey a sense of peace... a world comprised of both calm and adventure awaits the one who will enter in...  Her art has the unique capacity to invite you, gently draw you in, then send you forth refreshed, anticipating more... The colors in her landscapes are both subtle and strong, giving an "at home" feeling, a sense of gentle adventure, a oneness with nature. We can dance on the waves, rest by the seashore, enter into the woods for a stroll, open the doors of the prairie granaries, stand in awe at the rolling of the clouds and waves...they draw me to a deeper appreciation of the Great Sovereign Artist-Creator".   Thank you Tarun -- Madeleine Tone - Writer, Teacher, and a Patron of the Arts, St. Pierre Man
