“I love my kitchen. It is the best room in my house. My house is on a hill and the kitchen overlooks a lagoon at the foot of the hill. I have sliding glass doors that fill most of the wall that faces the lagoon and I can see the mountains and forests from there. I am enthralled with the birds that are attracted to the lagoon. Outside my window I have hung a Hummingbird feeder and bird nest chimes and I can watch the activities of the birds while I am doing my dishes or while I am eating breakfast at my table. My kitchen faces south-east so the sun streams in the windows and therefore I need very little heat on in the kitchen on a sunny day -especially if I am cooking or running the water distiller. Because of my love of the nature I see from my kitchen, I have chosen to decorate my kitchen to match. I have two Sue Coleman prints -one of a Blue Heron and one of a Hummingbird. I often see herons fly past my window as they soar down to feed in the lagoon below. I have stained glass depictions of a Heron and a Hummingbird hanging in the windows. On a small table where I keep the phone I have made a little nature centre which contains a wooden statue of a Heron, a huge clam shell from the Queen Charlottes, various sea shells and sand dollars and a couple of plants . Hanging above the table is a coconut shell decoration from Uruguay and a lively painting from the Dominican Republic -both of which fit in well with the nature decor of my kitchen. If I have company we are most likely to spend most of our time visiting in my kitchen. I think a large colorful print of a lemon would brighten the kitchen even more. I adore your giclee prints”. Karen “Thanks Karen for that description of your kitchen. It sounds like you’re right in the middle of nature, while still being inside the warm comfort of your kitchen”. Tarun
